Every year, there are many festivals and fairs that are great places to get craft items and to sell at. In November is the Capital City Arts & Craft Show, held at the Charleston Civic Center. This is typically held the weekend before Thanksgiving from Friday to Sunday. A large number of vendors appear and there are crafts from all over the state and country.

In the Spring is the Vandalia Gathering, held the weekend of Memorial Day. It’s three days of West Virginia heritage, folklife, music, dancing, crafts, storytelling and more.  Concerts Friday night, Saturday night and Sunday night, and during the daytime hours enjoy old-time music contests, heritage dancing demonstrations, flatfoot and square dancing, jamming, food vendors, craft sales and the world-famous Liars Contest.

In Summer is of course FestivALL, which is a citywide arts & entertainment celebration with major ticketed concerts, free music stages, a downtown arts fair, street theater and dance. It includes a chili cook‑off, and plenty of arts and crafts for all.
