Professional Practices for Artists provides artists the opportunities to learn new skills, get advice on pressing career questions, hear insights from the profession’s leaders, and refine their professional correspondence. These classes are developed specifically for artists to provide career, community, and confidence building tools to support all aspects of a creative practice. Our instructors are not only experts in what they teach, most are practicing artists introducing concepts and practical skills grounded in real life examples. Topics will include writing resumes and artist statements; creating and maintaining an online presence; professional etiquette; and packing artwork.

5 week course – Tuesdays from 5-7pm in the Juliet Art Museum classroom

$25/class or $100 for all 5 classes

February 26 – Web Design with MESH and Jessica O’Hearn

In this class, representatives from MESH Design and Development will review the importance of a web presence and walk students step-by-step through developing an artist website using SquareSpace. Students are encouraged to bring their own laptop, completed artist statement, CV, and artwork images. Students are required to sign up with Square Space prior to this class.
