Dr. Michael Brumage, MD, MPH, FACP, who recently retired as a Colonel after a 25-year career in the U.S. Army Medical Corps, was in Japan during the Great Tohoku Earthquake of 2011. He will share his own story as a participant in the U.S. military relief effort in support of the Japanese Government called “Operation Tomodachi,” the largest humanitarian/disaster relief operation in the history of the U.S. Armed Forces. Dr. Brumage is currently the Executive Director of the Kanawha-Charleston Health Department as well as Health Officer for Kanawha County and Putnam County, West Virginia. He is the Co-Chair for the West Virginia ACEs Coalition.
