This documentary tells the story of the Flint Water Crisis from those who have experienced this tragedy first hand and from activists on the ground working through grass root organizations to make a difference. This film was the Annual Student Academy Awards winner for the documentary category in 2016. Karan Ireland will lead a discussion following the film. Karan is a steering committee member of Advocates for a Safe Water System, a group formed in the wake of the Elk River Chemical Spill to identify problems with the Kanawha Valley’s water system and advocate for solutions to those problems. She is also a member of the West Virginia Citizen Action Group which advocates for a clean environment, better public policy, rights of individuals, and a stronger democratic process.
