Based on the best-selling novel by Robert James Waller, “The Bridges of Madison County”, tells the story of Iowa housewife Francesca Johnson and her life-changing four-day romance with traveling photographer Robert Kincaid.  It’s an unforgettable story of two people caught between duty and desire with a book by Pulitzer Prize-winner Marsha Norman and a lush Tony Award-winning score by Jason Robert Brown that ranges from operatic strains to Americana folk.  The 2014 Broadway production starred Kelli O’Hara and Steven Pasquale.  An earlier non-musical film version was directed by Clint Eastwood and starred Eastwood and Merle Streep in an Oscar winning performance.  Charleston Light Opera Guild is the area’s 67 year-old community musical theatre company dedicated to engaging and entertaining productions of quality.  “The Bridges of Madison County” is directed by Nina Denton Pasinetti with musical direction by John Marshall.  David Patrick is accompanist and Thomas P. Pasinetti is tech director.
