Mary Asher | 8:00 PM

Adopted at just 3 days old into a skinny family, this chubby little girl developed a wicked sense of humor at a very early age. It served her well when she ventured out into the world. Mary Asher was the proverbial class clown throughout school, which got her nominated in her senior year as “Never to Be Forgotten”. In her work life people would gather around her rather than the water cooler, and socially she was always the life of the party. She grew up an Army Brat, which took her from Alaska to Maryland and many places in between. This gave her an opportunity to see the world from many different perspectives and helped her to never meet a stranger. Thus began a comic in training. After settling in North Carolina, her work place invited her to participate in the company talent show, as she was always making her co-workers laugh.

Her five minute routine was over in just under 50 seconds, sounding more like an auctioneer. Even though she had rushed through it, she was quite well received which started the comedy bug in her in a VERY big way. She had long been told that she was so funny she should be a comic. However, coming from a blue collar family, it was never something that occurred to her to do for a living. So she called The Comedy Zone in Charlotte, North Carolina to ask if they had an open mike night as she wanted to experience that adrenaline rush again.

Before long she was working gigs around the country That was in 1993. She has since worked with such greats as, Brian Regan, Jeff Dunham, Bob Sagett, Carrot Top, James Gregory, and Tim Wilson just to name a few. With an act that ranges from politics to personal experiences, her interactive style and unique outlook has made her a favorite at many clubs, colleges and corporate events
