It is said that kissing a hunk of rock at Blarney Castle, in County Cork, Ireland,  bestows one with great eloquence or skill at flattery, and the name itself has become synonymous with storytelling with humor and wit.  All Celtic Countries have great storytelling traditions,  from far flung mythology to the more contemporary, W. B. Yeats, James Joyce – Irish; Robert Burns – Scot;  Dylan Thomas – Welsh; etc Join this great tradition and plethora of greats, and bring your own fanciful tale.

We will borrow heavily from the first and greatest storytelling contest in all the land—the Vandalia Gathering Liar’s Contest—in form and function. We’ll ask contestants to show up a little early to sign up, draw their names for their order of participation, and limit contestants to five minutes on the mic.

Emcee – Pete Kosky is a Liar’s Contest winner, storyteller, songwriter and author whose book ‘Mountain Tales & River Stories’ is available at Taylor Books.

Registration from Noon.

Judges – Kennie Bass, Bill Hairston and Alisa Bailey will be our Three judges.

Prizes – T.B.A

We hope you’ll join us for what is sure to be a fun and hilarious event!
