Birding Around the Sun
Insert shortcode
11:00 AM to 12:00 PM
02-18-17

As the earth travels around the sun, observe the changes in bird behavior, from singing and nesting to migration. Learn about birding, bird ecology, and why birds are important parts of the natural environment. We will try to exceed our previous year’s count of 65 species, and celebrate at the year’s end by looking back on our adventures.

Meet at the Nature Center 15 minutes before we embark. Hike locations will be on a rotating schedule, and hike routes will be of varying levels of difficulty. We post “Birding Around the Sun” dates on our calendar for where we will be heading each week and at what time, and look to the Kanawha State Forest Foundation Facebook page as well for any changes in schedule.

Event is free to everyone. Stay as long as you like. Dress according to hike difficulty and weather. Bring water, a snack, and binoculars. A few (3) pairs of binoculars are available for borrow. Naturalist, Sara Miller 304-558-3500
