The East End Bazaar will host Hop & Heat October 21st, 2017 from 2:00– 6:00 as a FestivALL Fall event. Hops & Heat, an Appalachian Craft Beer and Chili Cookoff Event celebrating the close to the Open-Air Bazaar season, will encompass over 80 craft beers from more than 20 Appalachian breweries and crown the Bazaar’s best chili in a chili cookoff competition between 10 Bazaar cooks. The Hops & Heat Chili Cookoff (details below) winner will receive an award created by an East End Bazaar artisan.
Returning again is the Hops & Heat chili cookoff. Up to ten cooks will compete for the heat. Registration is $20 and includes all of the perks of a regular attendee ticket. Prizes will be made by East End Bazaar vendors. Two awards will be given: people’s choice and Best Overall Chili (voted on by four culinary experts.)
The Best Chili Beer Competition returns for a second year. Lauded by brewers last year, more breweries are competing this year, including Pubstomper, New Belgium, Foothills, Brewstel, returning champ Big Timber, and more! The winner will receive a custom beer-themed award created by a Bazaar artisan.
Tickets: Drinker tickets are $30 and include 4 oz. beer samples, three 12 oz. beer tickets, unlimited chili samples, and access to Bazaar vendors and live Hops & Heat music. Nondrinker tickets are $20 and include unlimited chili samples and access to Bazaar vendors
